Probably because it's not 100% beef...

I try to make my own as the stuff you buy in stores has a metric shit ton of preservatives. Damn beef prices have gone up so high though that I havent made and in some time. Still make fruit jerky from time to time though.

my dad and I used to, but haven't in a while. its funny though, the cheaper stuff always has a fishy taste. how could they even use fish? you know what it tastes like? whale meat. for serious.

You gotta get some Perky Jerky. This stuff is awesome, I discovered it at a truck stop on a road trip, and bought it because of the shiny packaging. This stuff is delicious! Just the right balance of soft and chewy too, so it's not like you're gnawing on a dog toy.
